Drug Distribution Conspiracy Case Dismissed in Federal Court

USA v. C.W. U.S.D.C. Dist. Of CT (2021)

In 2020, my client was Indicted by a federal grand jury with some other defendants for being involved in a drug distribution conspiracy after an 18-wheeler with 60 kilos of cocaine was searched. My client was accused of being one of the masterminds behind the scene, negotiating the deal. He was arrested while working on his truck and his personal vehicle was parked nearby. The DEA agents apprehended him with an arrest warrant, but no search warrant. However, they went into his truck and his car and retrieved two telephones without his consent or a warrant. Attorney Brown filed a Motion to Suppress all evidence from both seized telephones. They were suppressed. Several months later, when they realized they had no case left, the case was dismissed by the United States Attorney. My client is now free and clear, and the case continued without him. We are proud we were able to keep him free of any record and that he is safe with his family. "

United States v. D.M., Eastern District of New York

Client turned down a plea offer encompassing a guideline range of around 7-9 years in prison in an international fraud and money laundering conspiracy. Her level of participation was so complex in terms of my ability to portray her minimal role to the Court without a trial, that we advised her to go to trial. As expected, we lost the trial but thanks to our efforts and success in presenting the mitigation during the course of a 3 week trial, she was sentenced to time served for the few hours she spent in processing her arrest before being released on pretrial supervision.

State of Connecticut v. A.A.

Death penalty in Hartford, Connecticut prior to the repeal of the death penalty in Connecticut. The charge was being the shooter in a murder for hire. Our investigation resulted in finding a motive to lie by the one critical witness and evidence that the victim was involved in criminal activity that potentially would be admissible at trial; all unknown to the prosecutor’s office. This resulted in my client being offered a deal of 20 years for manslaughter which is parole eligible and allows credit for good time. Not only was no death penalty imposed, we also saved him from a mandatory life sentence.
